Along the Baltic Sea: Kołobrzeg – Gdańsk

The sea always arouses many emotions. Everyone has different associations: for some it brings to mind hot summer days on the beach and a pleasant swim in the swift waves, for others the rough waters evoke respect and admiration for the forces of nature. However, anyone who has ever looked at the horizon above its shores is absorbed by nostalgia and blissful oblivion.

During the biketrip along international bicycle route along the Baltic Sea (Velo Baltica) there will be many opportunities to reflect by staring at the great water, sitting on the beach or climbing the numerous lighthouses, dunes and cliffs. So forget about your worries and enjoy the experience of the bicycle trail along the Baltic coast. The almost flat terrain will give you great driving pleasure, and numerous reserves and attractions along the way will make you feel like a real traveler!

Attractions and programm of the bike tour:

Day 2 Ustronie Morskie – Darłowo (distance: approx. 65 km)

Gąski Lighthouse

Sarbinowo and Mielno promenades

Lake Jamno– the reservoir created from a former sea bay

Theme Village – Fishing Village in Chłopy

Castle of the Pomeranian Dukes in Darłowo

Day 4 Rowy – Łeba (distance: approx. 55 km + optionally 18 km for visiting moving dunes )

Lake Gardno – separated from the Baltic Sea by a sandy spit of land, you can use viewing platforms for bird watching

Słowiński National Park – called Polish Sahara, includes moving dunes, extensive marshes and coastal lakes. In near Łeba you will visit the moving dunes stretching between the Baltic Sea and Lake Łebsko

Day 6 Krokowa – Jastarnia/Jurata (distance: approx. ok. 50 km)

Northern Kashubia Bicycle Trail built along former railway line – beautiful palaces and castle on a route;

Jastrzębia Góra – The North Star, Rozewie Lighthouse

Władysławowo – Avenue of Stars, observation tower

Hel Peninsula – a 35 kilometer long spit of land separates the Baltic Sea from the Gulf of Gdansk. Fashionable towns are a paradise for lovers of water sports and picturesque beaches

Jurata – here rests the elite

Gdańsk

Gdańsk – although more than a thousand years old, it impresses with its modernity. This is where World War II began, this is where communism ended. Here history merges with an open, modern city.

King’s Road – Long Market Street – the most representative street of the city with the Neptune fountain and richly

Artus Court – former business and social center of influential townsmen

Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary – Europe’s largest temple built of bricks and a great example of Gothic art

Długie Pobrzeże – lively promenade on the Motława coast with Old Crane Gate

Mariacka Street – historical part of the city famous for its amber shops
